This month we're screening Holy Motors by Leos Carax, a 2012 French surrealist fantasy about a man who boards a limousine and is driven to nine mysterious "appointments." From dawn to dusk, the film follows a few hours in the life of Monsieur Oscar, a shadowy character who journeys from one life to the next. He is, in turn, captain of industry, assassin, beggar, monster, family man. He seems to be playing roles, plunging headlong into each part - but there are no cameras present. The film also competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
