All poets and poetry lovers are welcome in this inclusive open mic that happens the second Tuesday of every month. Bring your words, stop by to get inspired, or just listen. All people and styles of poetry are welcome.
Sessions are hosted by Freesia McKee, an award-winning poet and professor at UWSP. She writes poetry, hybrid-genre work, lyric essays, memoir, flash fiction, book reviews, and literary criticism that make connections between history, gender, genre and place. Freesia’s words have appeared in myriad publications, winning the Patricia Goedicke Prize in Poetry and a Christopher F. Kelly Award for Poetry through the Academy of American Poets. She loves teaching and being in community, regularly offering writing workshops to the public.
